Possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns

Remember that possessive adjectives are followed by a noun.

Example: My sister took her handbag and went away

A possessive pronoun is not followed by a noun but it substitutes a noun previously mentioned.

Example: These are not our pencils. Ours are on that table

Describing places in past (describir lugares en pasado)

Para hacer descripciones de lugares en pasado y decir lo que había, utilizamos "There was" o "There were". Mira el dibujo y describe lo que ves como si se lo estuvieses contando a alguien que no estuvo contigo en aquel lugar. Puedes hacerlo en afirmativa no negativa.

Example: There was a clock on the wall
                 There were nine desks
There wasn´t a cat in the classroom
There weren´t any pens on the desks

What do people do? What are their jobs?
Describe five jobs as you can see in the example:

A doctor cures ill people
A worker works in a factory
A teacher teaches in a school
A taxi-driver drives a taxi
A mechanic fixes cars

Describe the place where you are (describe el lugar en el que estás)

En esta actividad tendrás que hacer una descripción del lugar en el que estás en estos momentos. Para ello, has de utilizar There is/ There are, some/ any, many/much. Al final, puedes hacer un par de preguntas sobre lo que hay en el lugar en el que está otro compañero para que éste lo conteste. Puedes seguir el ejemplo:

There are four chairs. There is a table. There isn´t any water but there is some coffee. There aren´t any cakes but there are some biscuits. There aren´t many books.

Are there many pens in your room?
Is there any coke in your room?
